Intern to director in three years – Robyn’s a real high-flier

In the summer of 2015, Robyn Baxter joined us as a paralegal office intern, becoming a full-time employee 12 months later.

Two years on, the 24-year-old has been made a director and is now responsible for supervising the bulk of the firm’s legal activities including civil litigation, High Court enforcement, mediation and tracing.

“The progression is not quite how I planned it, but I love every minute of my job,” says Robyn who gained a Bachelor of Law degree and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice (distinction) from Nottingham Trent University with a further internship at a criminal defence practice in Birmingham and a work placement with a legal firm in Australia.

“Being able to help both businesses and individuals who are often facing very testing times is a privilege. I can’t thank Philip enough for giving me such a wonderful opportunity,” says Robyn who also serves as an external legal consultant for the Nottingham Credit Union.

Boss Philip Elliott said Robyn deserved all her success as he welcomed her into her new position within the company, Bernard and Leigh Limited, which will continue to trade as Philip Elliott Associates.

“I originally invited Robyn to the company to be my ‘girl Friday’, to look after a lot of the legal side of things but she turned out to be a true all-rounder and is now a very important member of the team who is valued by all our clients,” he says.
